Bunce Island
Bunce Island is part of the Tentative list of Sierra Leone in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Bunce Island is a former British slave trading station. It specialized in slaves with rice cultivation skills and experience for what is currently the USA. Many of the related structures have been preserved, including the fort that was built by the Royal Africa Company in ca. 1670.
